Shunme (駿馬), meaning “swift horse,” is a white Soma ware sake set by Ikariya Kiln in Fukushima. Featuring the traditional Hidari-uma (left-facing horse), a symbol of good fortune and prosperity, each piece carries a quiet sense of protection and luck. The gently rounded forms are finished in a soft white glaze with subtle crackle, offering a calm and refined presence.
The guinomi cups are crafted with a double-walled structure, helping to maintain the temperature of the sake while remaining comfortable to hold. Once lost in the earthquake, the kiln has been reborn, and today the artisans continue their work in Fukushima using carefully selected clay from Aichi. This set embodies resilience, craftsmanship, and enduring beauty for everyday rituals.
