For over 400 years, artisans in Fukushima have handcrafted Ōbori Soma ware, a Japanese stoneware tradition born in the early Edo period. Known for its elegant crackle glaze and distinctive double-wall construction, it keeps tea warm while remaining cool to the touch.
The name “Shunme” (駿馬) means a swift and noble horse — a symbol of vitality and grace. Inside the cup, a running horse (hashiri-uma) gallops freely beneath the translucent glaze, representing freedom, courage, and protection.
Compact yet full of character, this small teacup carries four centuries of craftsmanship in its refined form — a quiet companion for your daily rituals.
