Seikan White Brushed Bud Vase by Takeshi Honda

Seikan (静環), meaning “quiet circle,” reflects the restrained beauty of this one-of-a-kind bud vase by Mashiko ceramic artist Takeshi Honda. Its low, circular form feels grounded yet expansive, like a calm horizon held in clay. The brushed white surface does not simply reflect light—it seems to contain it, revealing subtle movement and layers within the glaze.

The small opening creates a striking contrast against the broad silhouette, allowing even a single stem to feel intentional. Earthy tones remain visible along the rim and base, reminding us of the clay beneath the white.

On the underside, the piece bears Honda’s signature mark “Sennin” (仙人), a quiet seal that affirms its individuality and authorship.

Sculptural yet intimate, Seikan is both vessel and object—meant to be lived with, contemplated, and chosen with care. Only one available.
