Handcrafted by Asato Ikeda and fired in his anagama kiln, the Sanroku Guinomi captures the quiet strength of nature. Its sculptural form, inspired by the undulating slopes of a mountain (sanroku), is created through Ikeda’s signature twisting technique. This motion leaves soft, fluid ridges on the clay.
The surface bears a subtle blend of misty blue, gray, and ash tones, the result of natural flame and ash deposits during the wood-firing process. To the touch, the texture feels slightly coarse yet soothing — a harmony of rough and smooth that invites the hand to linger. Each sip reveals not only the artist’s mastery of form, but also the deep, organic dialogue between earth, fire, and air.
Every piece is truly one of a kind.
