Sourai sake cup | Japanese Modern Pottery

This Sourai (the sound of autumn wind) sake cup with an elevated base is rare, and because of its shape, it is not only easy to hold but also very stylish. Clay is refined from the soil surrounding Kondo's studio in Gifu, which is surrounded by pristine nature. The clay is fired while maintaining the fire day and night for four days. The artist’s image of the beautiful black dots and lava-like flows that appear on the surface was realized after many trials and prototypes. It is a one-of-a-kind gem.
